Looking Deep Into The Issue
To diagnose DVT, we use ultrasound technology to get a look at the deep veins in your legs. Using two different types of ultrasound, we assess blood flow in the veins and identify any points of restriction while capturing images.
Once we can look at the vein, we can either rule out DVT or begin discussing treatment options if we do locate a blood clot.
Prescribing DVT Treatment

- Keep the blood clot from growing
- Lower the risk of long-term complications
- Prevent the blood clot from traveling to your lungs
- Avoid the formation of future blood clots
We use Xarelto or Eliquis, both blood thinners, to address DVT. When we prescribe you medication, take it as directed and update us with any concerns or questions. We schedule follow-up appointments to check whether the blood clot in your leg is dissolving properly.
